On June 4, 2026, SynchroCyber founder James Burke participated as a featured presenter in the Security Industry Association (SIA) webinar “Designing Secure and Effective Corporate ID Credentials.”

The webinar highlighted the Security Industry Association’s newly released Corporate Credential Design Guide, a vendor neutral resource developed to help organizations design, implement, and manage secure, interoperable, and user friendly corporate identity credentials.

During the session, James joined fellow industry leaders Lindsay Martin-Nez of HID and Teresa Wu of IDEMIA Public Security to discuss best practices for credential design, identity verification, issuance governance, credential lifecycle management, visual security features, privacy considerations, and emerging trends in physical and mobile credentials.

Why Corporate Credential Design Matters

Corporate credentials are often the first line of trust within an organization. Effective credential programs help organizations verify identity, manage access, protect facilities and information systems, and support compliance requirements. As organizations increasingly adopt mobile credentials, cloud services, and Zero Trust security architectures, credential design must balance security, usability, privacy, and interoperability.

The SIA Corporate Credential Design Guide provides practical guidance for organizations developing new credential programs or modernizing existing badge and credentialing systems. The guide addresses governance, identity proofing, credential issuance, visual design, security features, lifecycle management, and emerging technologies that support modern access management strategies.

Key topics covered included:

  • Identity proofing and credential issuance governance
  • Physical and mobile credential technologies
  • Visual design and anti-counterfeiting measures
  • Data security and privacy protections
  • Alignment with global identity standards and Zero Trust principles

The discussion emphasized the importance of designing credentials that balance security, usability, interoperability, and organizational requirements while supporting modern access management strategies.

SynchroCyber remains committed to advancing federal and commercial identity, credentialing, and access management (ICAM) practices through industry collaboration, standards participation, and practical implementation experience.
